Thats a good question until Lee's demonstration I had not really given a thought to the condition, but had found myself needing to come back to some seams as well. I liked the hairdryer suggestion to speed the process, but don't heat to melt the model though. I'm such a slow builder at times it can sit for days (or should I be saying months :( ) anyhow being aware is step one and given you are using plastic on plastic it can be alot easier to work with.

When you say 'out gas before final sanding', is that a time factor or another process??

For the Hurricane build I used some very small sprue where I glued it in to the panel trimming with an x-acto blade then filed down any excess. As Lee mentioned let the glue out gas before final sanding. Check the seam in the light from different angles. I use mainly those black then pink nail sanding boards...but chose the grit you need for the job. After it's sanded then polish it out with some cotton again check the seam in the light.
