Of course, they are now that I gave up on a main stream kit being issued! The Montex conversion came in to stock at A2ZEE the same day I posted that and since they are somewhat difficult to get and the price was decent (one sold on eBay for twice what I paid and the price direct from Polish distributor was also higher), I went ahead and ordered it. Heck! the conversion and a Trumpeter kit are still cheaper than the Tamiya kit, so if it does not fit well on the Revell, I will flip for a Trumpeter kit.

Thanks, anyway, Bill!

Tamiya is releasing a Birdcage Corsair in 1/32! Pre order from HLJ and the price is not that bad :) I am sure it will be a great kit and will need no aftermarket and cutting and grinding and weeping and knashing of teeth.

Does anyone have both a Revell and a Trumpeter Corsair? I am contemplating buying the Montex F4U-1 (birdcage) conversion. It is intended for the Trumpeter kit, but if the wing roots of the Revell kit are a close match to the Trumpeter, I will just pull one of those out of my stash. Can someone fit a Trumpeter fuselage up to a Revell wing and see how close it is in fit and shape?
