seems they folded or moved to a different site.

Just remember if you pickup one of those wood bases from Michaels you need to stain it or seal it otherwise it will bow. I had noticed that on the one used for my Coyote and then needed to sand it down to flatten it better.

Also a friend gave me some fairly large bases from their company cleaning out some old awards.  Anyone needing one let me know.

My dear old Dad used to rip off the brass plates from model contest award plaques and paint them up as bases. Almost couldn't go to a show without someone commenting on a base, "Well, thanks. It was the plaque I won here last year..."

huh?

We were talking about the bases last night and I said I would bump the post up in the order so they could find it easier.

What a great idea.... the equivalent approach might be :

- get a suitable wood part at Micheals then paint or stain
- laser print you favorite image onto photo paper
- trim to size/shape
- Use 3m adhesive #77 sparay to the back of the photopaper
- apply onto the base
- overcoat with dull coat lacquer to seal and protect
