Looks good Lee!! The two British magazines (Aeroplane, Flypast) had extensive articles on these "Black Cats" laast year.

I bought this from Lee Griffin at the April 2009 Eagle Squadron Swap Meet.  It includes the Belcher Bits resin correction tail which was quite a bit of work to install for a marginally improved outline.  Yellowhammer Modelworks decals for a Black Cat of VP-11 based at Guadalcanal in 1943.  These aircraft were very heavily weathered by the tropical sun and salt water, exposing the USN Blue-Gray underneath.  I tried to replicate this by sanding the blacck ever so slightly down to the blue below, but I'm not sure that I did it hard enough.  The beaching gear is really, really fragile and can barely hold the weight of the model, something the huge chunk of resin doesn't help so I added the peg underneath the fuselage to take some of the strain off the flimsy rear wheels.  Oh well -- it's another Monogram kit under my belt.
