Thanks Bill L2,I appreciate it. I guess the H-34 would be the Blackhawks grand daddy.

Very nice model Spanky. Great job. Looking at that model if you took the engine and put it on top of the helicopter and moved the cockpit from the top to the front it would look just like a Blackhawk!

Very nice! A real beauty!  Looking forward to seeing it Sunday!

Oh the Memories!
Put it together on Friday afternoon and play with it on Saturday Morning!  No thoughts of seam filling or aftermarket parts, just follow the directions and enjoy.

Still have some of those builds in the attic - Eastern Airlines 737 & 727, Fokker F-27 in Piedmont Airlines livery.

Look forward to seeing you in September.

Steve, thanks.I wish someone would come out with a new mold 1/48 H-19.When I was a kid I built the Revell float version of the H-19 and the Marine version molded in a brown shade of plastic. Fun times back then;slap it together with glue, put the decals on it and play with it until stuff broke off of it then blow it up with a firecracker or three.

Spanky,
Nice to see you doing the Navy version - that International Orange color scheme definitely draws the eye.

Too bad it can't go with the earlier H-19 (did you do the wheeled or float version) unless you do a forced perspective shadow box.  Would look great together as a salute to the helos of the 1950's.

Thanks Lee,I appreciate it.Yep,I'll be taking it to Salisbury, there'll be a lot of nits to pick on it but I don't care. Hopefully I'll have this Wessex done by then.

Great job, Spanky! You going to go to the Salisbury contest in October? That would look real good on the contest table.

Beautiful job, Spanky!  I'm sorry I can't see it in person but am certain it will impress as much in the photos.  I too have a soft spot for these Sikorskys: they are so iconic for 1950s era helicopters.

Thanks Ron,it's good to sniff glue again.I've actually started several several planes
but then get burnt out on them. This was a nice change.
Ryan, the italeri Westland Wessex has the collectives and I thought about robbing them from that kit but I was already to far along on the H-34 and once you get the glass on it you can't see them anyway;in fact you can't display the side glass open on the Gallery kit but you can on the Italeri kit which I've started this afternoon.

Thanks Ryan. When you get around to working on yours again don't do like I did,add the collective and hog out the areas where the screens go.
spanky

Yep, I hope to remember that when it happens. I do somewhere have some photos that show the collective attaches if you need them next time.

Spanky,
Looks great! Good to see you back in the game!
