Tony,
Excellent photo story of the show!

Did not see any photos of your Duce - was hoping to find some to add to my set to show what the fire truck started life as.

I took lots of pictures...just need to resize and post them shortly. Nice job on the event overall and to the folks especially handling all the planning.

Did anyone take any pictures?  Are they/Can you post them somewhere to share?

Thanks
Bill L.
Tony was going around with his camera and indicated he would be posting those photos and Matt will be getting the winners posted as soon as possible - keep checking.
Regards and thanks to all club members for your work in making this a good show.

I personally want to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication to pulling off a Great Contest!! It was definitely a team effort! Fortunately we were able to land many sponsors and great vendors. I was a little disappointed at the actual number of participants. Attendance was low due to the Airshows in VA Beach, Lynchburg VA, and the weather did not help us either.

So planning for the RDUCON 2018 will need to account for both the IPMS schedule and the local Airshow calendar.

All in all we had a very successful contest!

Thanks again for everyone's hard work with either the planning or the actual day of the contest!!

Looked like a success. We had 359 models entered. I don't have the count of entrants. Almost all of the entrants that I registered had multiple entries, and I'm pretty sure the same was true for Ibra and Larry.

I didn't attend the post-contest debrief at Smithfield's for very long, but the only complaint I was aware of was the format of this year's raffle. We assigned winning tickets to items rather than let the winners' choose, the reason for doing so being to accommodate those judging. There are pros and cons to both methods.

Big-time congratulations to Bob Surber for winning multiple awards, including Best Auto, in his very first contest. One of Bob's car was also a strong contender for Best in Show. His models really added a lot to the auto categories this year.

The Virginia contingent won many awards, as expected, and it was good for us that the bad weather encouraged them to come to RDUCON instead of attending the airshows in Lynchburg and Virginia Beach. Their presence was very welcome.

I thought it went very well, although I have no insight to the financial aspects of the endeavor...

Ron and Bob S. cleaned up in the awards department...Congrats guys!

While I was disappointed I could not even attend, congratulations to everyone who helped pull this off.  I haven't heard the how it went yet, but I am sure there will be good things and lessons learned.  I look forward to seeing pictures, hearing the financial report, and all the stories everyone will be sharing.

Congrats team. From what I saw it was a success.
