Thanks to Bill Leary for this gift of the Monogram combination of their ancient B-52D and the more modern X-15 kits into one model with the necessary modifications to depict the NASA mothership "Balls Eight" and the stretched X-15A-2 used for the highest altitude missions in 1967.  This was one hell of a lot of work as the fit can be charitably described as atrocious.  It took me over five months to bring this one to completion.

Kit decals were used, the mothership was painted with Alclad Aluminum with a Future clear coat (the real airplane was painted overall in aluminum lacquer), and a ton of masking was required to get the wing walkways articulated.  Whew, I'm glad that is done!
