Don't know what's involved with running a contest, but I'm definitely willing to help out.

Our year-end December 8 meeting was well attended. Thanks to all who could make it.

Thanks to Stephanie and Matt Cottrell for their service as President and Vice President respectively and for coordinating the year-end food fest.

Congratulations to Chase Teal for being selected as 2019's Most Improved Modeler by popular vote.

For 2020, Eagle Squadron's executive board officers are:

President:                  Ron Verburg
Vice President:           David Shaw
Treasurer:                 Larry Mason
Information Officer:    Chuck Morford
Chapter Contact:        Lee Griffin

Additionally, Tony Leger continues his role as Webmaster.

Thanks to all who provided updated contact information to me at the November and December meetings. This information goes to IPMS USA as part of our annual re-charter package. Yes, we are an affiliated chapter of the International Plastic Modelers Society, USA branch, which requires at least five club members to be active members of IPMS USA. We meet that threshold. The only other membership condition is that the Chapter Contact (yours truly) must be an active IPMS USA member. I will complete our re-charter package this week.

For 2020, we are considering a club-sponsored group build with a high-quality model as the subject (TBD). Anyone who has paid their 2020 membership dues ($25) will be eligible to get a model and participate. Our rationale is that providing a quality model will motivate more participation.

Also, we as a club voted earlier in 2019 to sponsor a contest in 2020, with the target date being November around Veterans' Day. We need members to step up and volunteer to fill a couple of key roles, including contest chairperson. Several club members have carried the burden of  running contests the past decade or so and have all the experience and wisdom needed to ensure a successful event. This is a great time for some of the newer members to get their feet wet in organizing and running a contest. There's nothing difficult about it, it's just a series of tasks and chores that need to be done. We are always grateful for the enthusiastic member participation and support we get on contest day.

Looking forward to 2020.

Thanks,

Lee Griffin
