Mike Wenger Injured

I spoke to Mike Saturday, he has been in the hospital for 5 weeks and is in considerable pain.   The good news is that he should be able to go home in two more weeks and that the doctors expcet him to make a full recovery.  He can accept visits at Wake Med and sounds like he's doing okay overall...upbeat and optimistic as always.

...March 21st during a Civil War reenactment in Bennettesville, South Carolina while charging up a hill on horseback. The horse reared up and tossed him off its back, and then the damn horse fell on top of him. Wenger was almost crushed to death. He suffered a crushed pelvis, ten broken ribs and other lesser injuries. He's currently at Wake Hospital undergoing reconstruction surgery and therapy. He is accepting phone calls if anyone would like to call and wish him well.
