R3 Convention in Atlanta last Saturday

Last Friday Shane and I left Raleigh at 6:30 am headed for hot 'lanta and boy was it hot!On the way we hit every Hobby Lobby attempting to use our 40% off coupons on clearance items.This didn't work out to well.Once we hit Atlanta we checked into our motel then we hit AAA hobbies and a Hobbytown USA.This must be the biggest Hobbytown I've ever been in.Saturday we went to the R3 convention and entered our models.since I was vending I didn't get to look at the models so I don't have a count of how many kits were on the tables.Shane took 9 planes and won 9 medals;5 gold and 4 silvers.I took three models and won three silvers.This was a medals show so you aren't competing against other modelers.I picked up a Tamiya 1/48 Fw-190 D9 and a birdcage Corsair still sealed in the shrink wrap for $7.50 a pop.Now where's that salmon paint for my Corsair?
