Next Meeting

Sunday, February 20, 2010, 1:30 PM
Classroom 126A, Engineering Tech Building, Wake Technical Community College

Last Month's Meeting Highlights

We had a swap meet where kits and supplies exchanged hands for great prices.  I still didn't see any Mongram F-14s, though.

Rudy Tempesta B-24J Project

We will present Rudy with a model of his B-24J, "Oh Forty Nine" at this month's meeting.  All members who still have items to be added to the diorama are requested to be at Wake Tech no later than 1:00 PM so that we can complete final assembly before Rudy arrives at 2:00.

This Month's Meeting

Rudy Tempesta will join us with more of his wonderful stories and receive the completed diorama of his airplane.
Joe Maranaca will do a demonstration on simulating wood effects on a World War I aircraft.
Also, we will have a Leary vs. Koschatzky Smackdown!  Both modelers, large in dreams and plans but sadly, uh, small in completed output, have challenged each other to bring an actual finished model to the meeting for the club to inspect.  Can they do it?  We'll all have to see this Sunday.  The winner enjoys all bragging rights they are entitled to for the following year.

Dues are due

Annual dues of $20 are due before April 1.  Please see our treasurer Ryan Koschatzky at the meeting this Sunday.  Those of you who wish to mail in your check can address it to:

RDUCON 2011

We are now three months away.  Crunch time is fast approaching.  Please volunteer your efforts in any way possible to make this a spectacular event.

Build Outside the Norm

Our club is conducting a group build of subjects that we don't normally do.  For example, if you're primarily an armor modeler, you would select a car or a ship, or any subject from a category that you don't normally build.  The idea is to stretch your skills a bit and perhaps gain an appreciation for a different genre.  Any subject is allowed, and all members are welcome to participate.  Completed models will be presented for inspection at the September 18 meeting.
