Holiday Gift Exchange. This is a voluntary event.  If you choose to participate, bring a gift-wrapped modeling item, under $25 in value, and enter it into the lottery.  We didn't get even one Monogram F-14 kit last year.

Sounds like a challenge.

Challenge accepted!

Last Month's Meeting

Mike Kopak gave an outstanding lecture about the F-16 and its variants.  It was so well received that we are going to schedule Mike back for part two in 2011.

This Month's Meeting

It's time again for our annual Holiday meeting:

20010 Model Year in Review. Please bring in all the models you completed in the past year.  We will have a large display in the center of the room with show 'n' tell devoted to the completed models.

Holiday Gift Exchange. This is a voluntary event.  If you choose to participate, bring a gift-wrapped modeling item, under $25 in value, and enter it into the lottery.  We didn't get even one Monogram F-14 kit last year.  Surely, we can do better.  (and stop calling me Shirley)

Election for club officers in 2011.
President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Information Officer positions will be open for nomination and voting.  Interested parties have to be a member of the IPMS/USA national organization to be an officer.

Haywood Griffin Most Improved Modeler Award.  The club will honor the modeler who has shown the greatest improvement in skills in the past year.

Food!  The event will be catered by Smithfield Barbeque.

It will be a fun time, indeed, so bring your models and your appetite and help celebrate the end of an excellent year for IPMS Eagle Squadron.

Rudy Tempesta B-24J Project

Work continues on Rudy's airplane "Oh Forty Nine", using the Hasegawa 1/72 scale kit.  Clyde Mills has completed the building and painting stage, including the nifty hourglass marking on the tail.  Lee Kolosna has finished the wheels and landing gear.  Woody Griffin.  Tony Leger will apply the decals.  William Reece has the engines and props.  Lee Griffin is painting a figure or two.  Joe Marranca is painting the turrets.  Spanky McFarland is providing the weathering for the aircraft and also building a tractor and an ambulance.  Ryan Koschatzky will create a display base.  We plan on having these tasks complete for a presentation ceremony at the February 2011 meeting.

RDUCON 2011

The contest flyer is in the final stages of completion.  We are fine-tuning the categories and making appropriate adjustments to insure fairness to all contestants.  Activities will pick up sharply in January as we are now five months away, so please volunteer your time to reduce the burden on just a few individuals.
