I got your back on this one buddy!  I'll take that Sea VIxen outta your closet so that's one less you'll have to worry about :D

Thanks, guys! I'll post some more Hornet pics later. The white metal main gear struts on this kit are gorgeous! The CA Attacker is going back in the closet for another year or two. It's just not worth the time or effort to finish right now. It's definitely not as good a kit as their Sea Hawk.

Ronnie, thanks for the offer of the Betty. I actually held that one in my hands, but I just don't have room for it. I'm trying really hard to stick with my "anything bigger than an F-4 gets built in 1/144" rule. Plus, I've got way too many vacs to build already (Sea Vixen, Scimitar, XF-90, KC-135, Vulcan, Victor...).  ;D

I really like the Hornet, hope to see it completed soon.  As for vac kits, just let me know when you're ready for another one.  Norm blessed me with a really nice 1/48 Betty that already has some of the difficult work done and its got some nice white metal pieces.  Sounds like you could do it more justice than I could.  Do you want to give it a good home?

They look good Ben. I know you have been working on the F-100 for awhile. I am sure it will look great.

Bill L.

I think their looking pretty good.  Maybe not as bad as you think.

A "four footer" is one that looks OK from four feet away.  ;D

Both of these seem to be cursed. Painting them showed up a lot of spots that need to be sanded some more, and the Attacker is a mass of filler. Every attempt to fix problems created more, so I finally just gave up. I didn't even bother to re-engineer the crappy wheel wells. This kit has really lived up to the Classic Airframes rep!

The Sea Hornet's definitely not my best work, but it had been so long since I'd built a vac, it has helped me get back in the groove for my next vac builds.  The roundels disintegrated, so now I get to hunt down an OOP Xtradecals sheet to get the correct roundels. Fun, fun!

I think they look good.  some touchup and decals and they'll be in the display case.

Morning brain fart - whats a 'four-footer' ?

The wings are now permanently attached to the Hunzilla! I hosed it down with auto body primer, then sanded it down to the plastic, which did a pretty good job toning down the bazillions of rivets. I also put a few more .25mm white decal stripes on the 737 (what a PITA!) and did a little painting on a couple of long-stalled projetcs. The Attacker is the Classic Airframes kit and the Sea Hornet is a Dynavector Hornet that I got at that estate sale in FAY a few years ago for 10 bucks. Neither is all that good a build. I was experimenting on the Hornet, but the experiment didn't work out as well as I had hoped, and the Attacker is just a Classic Airframes kit, with all that goes with that. Both will be four-footers.

See y'all Friday!
