Next Meeting

     Sunday, May 20, 2012, 1:30 PM
Classroom 126A, Engineering Tech Building, Wake Technical Community College

Last Month's Meeting

William Reese gave an excellent presentation on pre-shading panel lines on aircraft.

This Month's Meeting

Mike Carruthers will be performing a demonstration on how to restore raised panel lines.
We will also have the first organizational discussions regarding RDUCON 2013, so please consider what kind of time you will be able to volunteer for this event.  We are looking for people to take significant positions of responsibility in order to prevent burn-out for the few that end up being burdened with most of the load.

Make 'n' Take at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base

Matt Cottrell and his girlfriend Stephanie represented Eagle Squadron at a USO sponsored Make 'n' Take for kids at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base on Saturday, April 21 as part of the Month of the Military Child Celebration.  The two bravely entertained the hordes, aged 3 to 12, and said that a good time was had by all.  Sincere thanks go to Matt and Stephanie for the gracious gift of their time and effort on behalf of IPMS Eagle Squadron.

Club Build Projects

The club has two group projects underway:
Curt Bandell/Mike Mittenzwei build – completed models obtained from either Curt or Mike's collections are being presented for inspection at the September meeting.  These same models will be displayed at the Fayetteville contest in November as our group entry.
USO Black Tie Event – like last year, Jon Emery is coordinating the donation of models for both the silent auction and the service award given to one deserving member of each branch of the military at the USO gala event in October.  Jon is eliciting contributions for a Marine, Army, Navy, and Air Force subject, plus additional models to be auctioned away in a silent auction.  Please look in your collections and consider either contributing an already built model or starting a new one for this worthwhile cause.

Meeting Etiquette

We have had several complaints registered regarding the difficulty in properly hearing during the club meeting.  We ask that all of our members respect the person who is speaking and to limit any words to the subject at hand.  We understand that everyone is excited to see each other and that we want to share our passion for the hobby, but we have to work together to keep the meeting on track and on schedule.  Your collective help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
