Title: Roden 1/144 Lockheed C-140A Jetstar
Post by: Bill L. on Sat 07/06/19 03:44 PM
I've always thought this was such a cool jet. Air Force used them to shuttle their brass around back in the day.
Also first one I've mounted in flight.
Picture isn't the best and the decals 'silvered' terribly - but.... I may go back and try a couple tricks to pull them down ;)

Bill - I am assuming with the green paint, you are doing a Vietnam camo paint scheme.  If you are up to a real challenge for this A/C, they were used by the 89th Airlift Wing for some of the short distance flights.

A Lockheed JetStar which was used by Lyndon Johnson during his presidency is on display at the LBJ Ranch (now the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park) in Stonewall, Texas. The ranch had a runway, but was too small to accommodate a large plane such as a Boeing 707. President Johnson would take the larger Air Force One to Bergstrom AFB in Austin, where he would transfer to the smaller JetStar for the short flight to the ranch. See photo below.
