I finished the M1A1 and since my Oak Island builder is nicknamed Tank I gave to him. He was over the moon and me only too happy to make it for him.
Nice looking hog. Who's kit is that? Any other details about the build? I see you added antennas.
The kit is the Trumpeter M1A1HA variant. The turret base needed a lot of work and tracks were a bear to get together. I had resin bits from when I did the Bradley I could hang off the turret and replaced the ID panels with cast ones. It was great for learning about the M1. For the Dragon kit in my stash I have replacement tracks. The Trumpeter kit back in the day was on sale cheap (~$20) unlike most kits nowadays.
It's always a great feeling when you give a model to a person who is appreciative.
Think this pilot still has the F-15E model?
Thanks for info Tony. Yes, there was a reason for the cost. Not many folks liked that kit but to most it does look like a M1.
@Lee, he might depending on the number of moves he has had to make.
That was a fun day indeed and seeing the one I had made in 1:1 in the hangar was pretty cool.
