Title: Pink PRU Spitfires
Post by: Spanky on Thu 08/30/12 11:50 AM
I have a question about the finish of pink PRU Spitfires. Were these carrying a flat,semi-gloss or a gloss finish?

Hi Spanky.  My sources indicate these were semi-gloss.  Also remember that the pink is barely perceptible -- perhaps one drop of red in a paint cup full of white.  Modelers tend to make them look like Pepto Bismal when in reality they really were an off-white with a pinkish tone.

Thanks Lee,semi-gloss it is but I painted it a couple of weeks ago and it's a lighter shade of pepto bismal in fact it's almost like the color of a Mary Kay Caddy.

Ah, it's just a model.  Maybe the Mary Kay ladies will give you a Cadillac when they see it.   :D

Yep,you right.If they gave me a '59 or '60 pink Caddy I'd drive it in a heartbeat.

In fact,I was thinking of marking it Mary Kay just for grins but decided against it
