Title: Latest airliner progress
Post by: BenB on Mon 07/13/09 12:47 PM
I took a couple of kits to the beach last week, and got the decals on one of them. This is the Daco 737-300 that I've converted to an early -200. Liveries Unlimited decals. I still have to wipe the decal goo off, then put all of the antennae, gear, and such on it.

I'll shoot better-quality pics when its done.

I like it... Looks good.  Only one in the club with the airliner niche.

That is real nice Ben. Is that Alclad for the metal finish?

Thanks, guys! Yes, it's Alclad White Aluminum over Tamiya White Primer, and the grey areas are Model Master Canadian Voodoo Grey. Everything else is decal.

Tony, I had thought of doing Terminal C from RDU back when American still owned it. I'd just need a rusty metal box and some 1/144 bolts and rivets to throw underneath it. Maybe a broken-down jet bridge or three. I'll try to get a pic of my airliner collection and post it.

Ben, it looks like you are the IPMS ES airliner guru. Two questions, please. 1 What is you opinion of the Airifx VS Mincraft 1/144 B727? 2. Which companies do the best aftermarket decals for the 1/144 birds? I really like the 373. The idea of an RDU terminal is great also.
