Hi Folks I got this from Dave Bennett
Hi Tony,
I hope this email finds you well. The IPMS site still lists you as the contact for the Eagle Squadron so I'm writing to let you know about a model contest that might be of interest to some of the club members. If, after reading this, you think it might be, please forward it to the members for their consideration. If you are not in the position to do that could you forward it to whoever is in charge now?
I have a model club based in Raleigh, NC that is called ModelWorx. We are a group of model artists and sculptors that focus on kits in the genres of Horror, Fantasy & Sci-fi, Aliens, Anime, Mecha, Super Heroes & Villains, Spacecraft, Original Concepts and more – basically nothing from "real life". Cars, tanks, sailing ships or airplanes are not our specialty. While all types of kits are welcomed, the IPMS organization pretty much has those genres well covered.
ModelWorx has teamed up with the Mad Monster Party Convention in Charlotte, NC to host a model contest at their convention. We did this for them last year and it went over so well they asked us to do it again.
The contest will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 as part of the convention. Registration will be in the morning with judging in the early afternoon. Awards will be given later that afternoon.
Categories will include figures, hardware, creatures and more, plus, special categories for teen and youth entrants. There will also be a "Peoples' Choice" Award.
In addition to the contest we will have a sculpting demo on Saturday by the super talented Chris Wooten. Chris is a veteran of the model kit and toy industry. He will be on hand to give you tips on the sculpting process - how to get started, creating armatures, the casting process and more!
For examples of Chris's amazing work check out his site at: http://www.chriswootensculpture.com/

NOTE: The model contest is open only to attendees of the convention.
There is a registration fee to enter models in the contest.
So, that's about it. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and give it your consideration.
Regards,
Dave Bennett
