Hello all,
It is hot and muggy and just miserable. That means I am inside more this time of the year and I have been at the workbench more the last few weeks than I have all year. Some have asked why do I put so much independent research in a project? Well it helps from having to go back and correct mistakes. Then again, soon as you think you are on cruise control you find a set of prints that you didn't know that was out there. Soon after you see that the boat that you are building has three (count them, three) rudders instead of the two that came with the kit. That's what happens when you stray from the box. I see more scratch building in my future!
Anyway, it feels good to be building again! So let's talk about July. Because of the holiday the time and venue has changed. I have had an overwhelming response to the Moose and for the swap meet. When, July 10th at 1830hrs. Where, Moose Cafe at the Garden Market off of Sandy Ridge Rd. What, the First Annual George Preddy IPMS Swap Meet. Bring what you don't want in your stash and it just might find a new home. And you never know, you may be the one to give a orphaned kit a new home. This is a one on one exchange of plastic and money. As Riddick says "You keep what you kill." Your kits, your money. There will be one club fund raiser event, Rufus will have some hard to find reference material that he will be selling and those proceeds go to the club.
Looking at August's calendar it appears that many of us will be at Nat's the first week in conflict with that months meeting. I am all ears!
See you guys in a few weeks, Yancey
