Title: Part 2 of Box art; B-29 raid on the Empire
Post by: Ronnie Murray on Sun 08/03/14 07:26 PM
I'm trying to upload some images of another shadow box I've completed.  It's an Academy 1/144 B-29 that I sawed in half to make it look as though there were two aircraft flying as part of a large formation.  It's being attacked by a 1/144  Micro Art Ki-84 and there is a 1/700 A6M5 positioned several hundred feet below that is trying to join the fight.   He is about to be intercepted by a 1/700 P-51D that is escorting the bomber stream.

This is a cool project; I like the forced perspective!

Thanks Bill.  Coming up with ideas and materials to do things like this are quick and easy...it's finding the time to put them together and now finding a place to put them that challenges me.  I don't have the display space like I used to have, in fact I'm maxed out and am having to thin out some areas just to display what I'm currently building.    Doing these types of models are where I'm really focusing now, I enjoy it more.  I'm really glad your friends at work liked it.
