Title: Tamiya M561 Gamma Goat
Post by: JonE on Wed 01/28/15 10:26 AM
Here is where I am at present with the Gamma Goat. Driver is done. Extra gear for trailer is done - all from spare parts box. Vehicle all built and base green applied, will add camo with airbrush this weekend. Fun build. Added the lifting rings to the front, tow hooks, fuel can, and "whoopie light" for autoban driving. We used these in Baumholder when I was there with 2/68 Armor back in the mid 80's. Got the bumper numbers from Archer.

The cab interior and the bed are finished, cargo is dry fitted. I downloaded the cigarette pack on line and sized it to scale. Printed on paper and glued to a scrap of plastic stock. Next, mask and spray camo.

That is great. Just need to add a sling to M-16.

Got it, just need to glue it on. This just keeps going for such a quick little build. Been toying with a blank adapter but we didn't use them a lot. We only got blanks during Reforger and summer camp in Graf. We usually only put the black plastic cap on to keep the crap out of your barrel.

Nice work Jon. I never got to ride in the goat. We just transitioned to the Humvee and the goat was on its way out. I did see some NG units keep them and they would buzz around at NTC with the supply trains. Some of the old timers would tell me it was a pain in the butt to maintain. Thats a nice kit. Maybe I will get one and build it up. Thanks for sharing.

I remember seeing or better yet hearing the goats at Ford Ord. You could hear one start up from across the base. Looking good Jon!
