Title: Hasegawa 1/32 KI 61

I am making progress on my KI-61. I wanted to do a NMF but my plan fell through. I somehow left circular marks on the plastic of the upper wing surfaces during prep and when I airbrushed the model it became very apparent. So I am going with an all green aircraft. I can still see the blemish with the Tamiya IJA Green but not as bad. Hopefully I can finish this model in the next week.

That looks great! You did a really nice job masking the white tail band around the curves, something that I've struggled with for years.

Good recovery. What made the circular marks? Sanding?

Thanks Lee and Matt. Lee I tried to get the plastic glossy smooth and used a rubbing compound. I have never used this method before and I guess it just marred the plastic. Live and learn.

Bill, I highly recommend Novus Plastic Polish #2 for making canopies and plastic smooth.  I used it on all my models and swear by it.  It's particularly helpful for preparing a surface for a natural metal finish. Micro-Mark carries it.

I dont see any swirlies but paint looks great!

If the light hits the wing at a certain angle Ron you can see the problem. I may take that paint off and try again. I will hit it with Tamiya gray primer and that might help out. The only problem with Tamiya primer is I may lose some of the surface details. I will give it one more shot and then just finish the model and be done with it.

Lee I will take your advice and order some Novus from Amazon tonight.
