Title: August visit to the Danville Tank Museum
Post by: Ronv on Sun 08/02/15 06:22 PM
Just a reminder that the club will be doing a field trip to the Tank Museum in Danville VA on Saturday Aug14. Meet at Jons house and proceed from there. Cost is $12 per person and the museum is open from 10 until 4.

Quote: "I thought I had mentioned it to Ron, but I believe Jon isn't at home that weekend in August. For some reason, I though Steve might have said that he thinks a lunch meeting at the new place in Fuquay is the way to go?

I know it was only two weeks ago when Jon went over his plans, but it seems not to have stuck.

Thanks, Matt"

To All,

I made the suggestion for the August meeting at The Mill when I heard the Roanoke trip was in question. I can check with them concerning availability and possible cost.

Comments - other ideas.

If Roanoke is still on, I guess we need a new assembly point to create ride shares and our convoy.

Just to clarify, we're discussing plans regarding the Eagle Squadron trip on Sunday, Aug 16th to the armor museum in Danville.
If the trip is still something that members would like to do, we'll simply need a new rally point for that day.
Otherwise, we can move the meeting to The Mill restaurant (or similar), or cancel it altogether.

The Roanoke model show is the day before, Saturday, Aug 15th, and not an organized Eagle Squadron event, although I imagine many of us will go.

Okay, Just to add to the confusion.....
The Danville Tank Museum is only open Fridays and Saturdays per the website.
http://www.aaftankmuseum.com

So those wanting to go to the Tank Museum in Danville will need to go on Saturday Aug 15 which conflicts with the contest in Roanoke which is also on Aug 15. So up to you guys to decide what to do. Those going to the Tank Museum please do but I guess Jon will be out of town so NO rally point at Jons house. Those planning on going to the contest please do it should be a good show.

OR go to the Tank Museum on Saturday Aug 22 or 29 or Sept 5,12,19,26? (The Sept meeting is the 20th when the club build is due).

Thanks
