Title: Dinner...A complication...
Post by: Chuck M on Sat 12/23/17 04:57 PM
I drove past "our" Applebee's today, and it's no longer in business...

So, any suggestions for the next dinner?

Also, since the first Monday is literally the 1st, should we push back to 1/8?

We could meet in the parking lot of Snoopy's, across the street...   :)

Yes, lets please move to Jan 8.

Any suggestions as a replacement restaurant?  Out Back Jacks in Garner, or the Carolina Ale House near crossroads in Cary?  Some place with a special  menu would be nice.

A correction.  It is Kick Back Jacks in Garner.  Burgers run about $9.

I'm ok with KBJ. except it seems a little loud for talking...

David, how do you define a special menu?

Special menu?  I guess I meant a daily special. For example: $6 burger Monday. I didn't see that on the web site.  The door is wide open. I think we all want a reasonable cost and the possibility for the occasional beer. At the same time as central as possible for all members.

KBJ can be loud, but in shouldn't be that bad on a Monday evening.  The food was pretty good.  We don't have to lock in on one place. Maybe we try a few over the coming months to see what fits us best.

If Chuck is willing, that would be great.

Monday, Jan 7 @ Kick Back Jacks?

We will try different places until we find a new home.

So, I think dinner at Kickback Jack's went pretty well...

David and I discussed going back to Applebee's, the one at the corner of Wake Forest and Six Forks, to get the dinner more northerly....

Any thoughts?

Food was good, service was good, but it was really load in there with the football game on.

I agree it was good til the game started. Shouldn't be an issue most months. I do like the idea of trying the Applebee's or another northerly location.

IFood and service were good, but it did get load.  I am on board with the Applebee's option for Feb.

I'd be up for trying the Applebee's, too. They're usually a little quieter than most sports bars.
