Title: A headcount of contest day workers?
Post by: lgriffin on Wed 09/02/09 03:55 PM
Thanks to all of you who have worked hard organizing this year's event. I am not among you, but I will be at Wake Tech bright and early on Saturday morning with my blue shirt ready to do whatever is needed. Last year I worked the registration table, and will do the same this year if needed.

I will bring pencils, writing tablets, Sharpie markers, tape, and name tags. Please let me know of any other general supplies/consumables that we might need, and I will get them.

Cheers to all,

Lee Griffin

Thanks Lee for bringing all that stuff!

What time should we all show up Saturday morning?

Vendor setup is 8am so  expect several of us need to be there by then Registration opens at 9am which should be quiet for a bit as folks mill in. I too have some pencils/pens from last year to bring. Early before any rush we'll have a final show meeting to just review a few items for all and answer any questions.

regards,

I'll be there too, very early.  Do we need to set out signs, posters, ballooons and such like we did last year?  William, Stan and I did that and several guys said it helped them find the place.  As mentioned, don't forget your blue shirt but I'd recommend a change of clothes.  Dirty grubby work shorts and t-shirt for the pre-game hussle and the blue game jersey once we start the interior duties.  I got really sweaty last year...your mileage may vary and to each his own.

last year we had a few coolers loaded with ice, drinks and water.  I can get these items from BJ's as well as chips for a very reasonable price.   They went over well last year as we had so many that we were giving them away to vendors as well as patrons and our club guys had plenty ro keep their throats quenched.  Let me know if this is approved for purchase through the club.  P.S.  We'll also need the coolers to be provided again this year so whoever brought them last year......
