Guys: Does anybody have a spare set of 1/48th scale F-16 Seatlbelts? I'm taking a shot at an old Hasagawa F-16 and the seat belts are hard to replicate. Hope somebody can spare some or tell me where to get them. Thanks Woody G.
I'll see what I have in photoetch as the seat is similar to what is used in the F-15. Many also replace the seat with a resin one that has the belts moulded in.
regards,
With modern jets, I have found that resin ejection seats are the way to go, rather than dealing with photo-etch belts that have to be bent in complicated and frustrating ways. True Details (Squadron) makes replacement NACES ejection seats that are used in the F-15 and F-16. I have one that I won't be using and will bring it to you at the December meeting.
The Hasegawa F-16 is a classic kit and goes together quite nicely. Seams at each wing have to be filled, and modelers always struggle with making the very visible air intake seamless. I fill it with CA glue and use sandpaper wrapped around a paint brush handle to sand down the filler. It takes about an hour of work, but the effort is worth it, in my opinion. The knock on the Hasegawa kits is that the cockpit is rather sparsely done. If you replace the ejection seat, that goes a long way towards improving the appearance.

Lee and Tony,
Thank you both for your input, I'll look forward to getting that seat from you, Lee, at the Christmas meeting, and Tony, I'm not very good with photo-etch, thanks anyway. Cheers, Woody G.
I go away to Florida for a week, and spend a week away doing my annual recurrent flight sim training, and you start building pointy airplanes...Sheesh! ::)
Next you'll tell me you are giving up fishing! Call me tommorrow.
Yeah, Woody, are you OK? First an F-4 and now a Lawn Dart! ;D
