picked it up at DownEastCon10 raffle. Dry fit is great for the vintage. Only one issues I can find are some gaps between wings to fuselage on the underside and at the engine nacelles...

Memories of being twelve years old, painting the ancient Monogram kit with gloss Pactra paint with a brush. It will be fun to see it again, after so many years.

OK, been working on this one too over the weekend. A ton of chopping has been done to get it where it is; removed all of the control surfaces (including flaps). Hollowed out the engine nacelles to accept a set of resin replacements, the wheel wells were obliterated for scratch conversion along with some other minor mods to the kit parts. Also rescribed all of the panel lines and been test fitting a lot...

Nice job so far! The fit of the kit is not that bad. Opening the wheel wells is going to be challenging, but an opportunity for some scratch building. The bomb bay will be like wise. Get an eduard photo etch set for the interior. The one thing you can't fix is the wide cord of the wing, however it builds into a great looking kit. I have never built the Frog kit and some prefer it to Monogram. I like the Monogram kit for its fit and clear glass. It looks like you are off to a great start.

I also remember building this kit eons ago, painting the splinter camo by hand with a brush. I remember thinking that model turned out better than most of the others I'd done. Seems like that model was also very sturdy as it weathered many times it was handled, bumped and played with. Shane, I know you'll make it shine as always and I look forward to seeing it completed.
