Go to ARC and check out the 1/48 F-100 posted on August 6.
Wow! He does great work with the foil, doesn't he?

Stunning models, to be sure.
One question though, weren't most of those F-100s that are modeled painted with aluminum lacquer?

Anyone see the photos of the 1:1 scale Super Sabre that was at Thunder over Michigan last weekend? My Dad was up there and said he got some good pics. I'll let everyone know when I get them. Here's a 'preview' from one of the guys at ASB.tv:

Cutshall's Hun and Collings' F-4D are two planes that I really want to see fly some day. Thanks for the awesome pic!
Lee, Lavin's F-100C was natural metal, polished to a mirror finish. The others in the photo were probably painted silver. I'd say the majority of F-100D and F subjects modeled as NMF were actually painted silver. "Triple Zilch" is a prime example. Norm Filer flew with Lavin, and said one day he showed up in his Caddy with a trunkload of gallon cans of flourescent paint that he'd found somewhere. All of that paint went on the Hun.
