Title: Colored wire
Post by: Ryan K on Sun 10/17/10 09:12 AM
Saw this post and thought some might find it useful for modeling or fishing. YMMV.

"The wire is known as UTC Ultra Wire. It comes in various colors and is made from copper. It is distributed by Wapsi Fly Inc. Here's the link to the wire: http://www.wapsifly.com/utcwire.html (http://www.wapsifly.com/utcwire.html). The small has a dia. of 0.0077", medium a dia. of 0.0092" and large a dia. of 0.0135". I don't have the diameters for x-small and brassie. Looking at the spools I have, X-small, small and brassie would work for 1/72 scale while for 1/48 and 1/32 scales brassie, medium and large would work. You should be able to find it in your local fly shop or you can order it online. I purchase the stuff for $1.50/spool."

...... on a 1/32 aircraft kit, based on the observable thickness, what would you use the med dia. for and what would you use the lg. dia. for?
Thanks, this will help me visualize the difference between the two sizes, and also help with color choices.

Also, as for bending, does it hold shape like angles?
