Title: CF104 Starfighter - 1st look
Post by: Anthony Leger on Mon 11/15/10 12:29 AM
I'd picked up a Monogram F-104 at a show for cheap some time ago and had some markings for a Canadian bird. I also had the BB cockpit which provided the EWR adds for the front and on the rear. Looking at the detail it was all raised so I decided to rescribed it...I need more practice. I noticed the burner and tail needed some work so in went a copy of the Hasegawa engine and an extension to the rudder too. This scheme is the variegated one which was the last before they retired them for the CF-18. Canadian CF104 had some of the highest airframe hours. The hasegawa kit is nicer even though the rivets are bit too pronounced.

That is really nice Tony. I love the F-104. The wing tip fuel tanks look really good on this jet.

Looking good.  Should see that one on the table in 2011.
