This is my P-51 D From Tamiya. I used some of Clydes tutorial and some of Williams tutorial. I painted a gloss black base with MM laquer. Then a finish with Alclad Aluminimum (light coates) and  slight panel work on the upper wing and exhaust area with Tamiya decanted and sprayed with the airbrush. I used after market decals to represent "Thunder Bird " an ETO Mustang. Overall I am pretty pleased with my first NMF. I was not crazy about the Mustang going into this build but now I find myself wanting to build another one!

Bill, what a beautiful airplane! I've tried to do about 10 in NMFs and have only been successful twice.  I simply cannot master Alclad, so the ones I did a good job on were done with Testor's non-buffable aluminum.  I'm glad the color police did not get to you at the last meeting. Just keep up the great work and let that stuff fall on a deaf ear.  See you next Sunday, WoodyG

Bill, that is one sweet Mustang!

Beautiful Mustang, Joe!  The paint finish is really sharp.
One small nit: you might want to look at the attachment of the prop blades.  The cuffs should be flush with the spinner.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Thanks Lee for the correction. I went back and fixed the prop to sit in the right position. The directions threw me off and the notch on the prop was sort of confusing. But I got it right the second time around. See you next week.

Even without the correction a very nice Mustang!
