Looks like the chicoms have ripped off Wingscale. The B-25,the Meteor, and B-17 will be released by some chinese company. You can go to Large Scale planes and read what Martin says about it in the DG.What a bloody shame.

It's all quite nebulous as to what really happened.  It appears that Martin (Wingscale) engaged a Chinese company to produce the tooling for the kits and then make a production run of 7500 1/32 scale B-25 kits.  But the Chinese company wants to run more than that (more revenue, and therefore more profit), so they shopped around for another company other than Wingscale to allow for a larger production run.  Will it be Kinetic, or perhaps Vision Models? (Martin has already posted it will NOT be Trumpeter or Hobbyboss.)  We'll have to see.

My industry insiders tell me that Martin was naive about the process and didn't get a legal contract in place ahead of time to protect his intellectual property.  All Wingnut Wings (a New Zealand company) kits are tooled and pressed in China, so it certainly is possible to do this correctly.

There's an old adage: everyone hates lawyers -- until they need one.  Martin needed lawyers going in and needs them now.  Unfortunately, he probably doesn't have the monetary resources to undo the damage already done.

I had a B-25H on pre-order with Sprue Brothers.  Who knows if that will ever materialize.
