Title: I have always had the greatest respect for Floquil until now......

Floquil has always been my standard for a great foundation paint.  You can use any enamel or acrylic paint on top and it would always withstand any reaction and still stay on the model.

However, I am spraying my Planet model Topsy with "old silver" as a foundation to do multi-panel tinting.  Before I could get to that stage I masked around the ailerons to spray them Floquil Platinum (which looks like a fabric silver more than a precious metal to me) and while reposition the Tamiya low tack tape, I "LIFTED SEVERAL SCABS OF OLD SILVER OFF THE MODEL".  So I sanded the area smooth and reapplied old silver again.  Went through the process again "WITH THE SAME RESULTS!".

This is happening on a plastic area not resin (planet used the MPM Sally for many of the parts in this kit) but I am flabbergasted and a bit pissed off.  Do I need to put down a base coat of Floquil white first?
First time this has ever happened to me with Floquil.  I am greatly disappointed in its performance.
