I just finished up this kit about a week ago. I did some rescribing because I lost some of the details while building it up. A very nice and fun kit to build. The decals are from the kit and are very nice. I looked for some after market decals but there was not much to choose from. I will bring it to the meeting this month. Next on the bench is an F-4G Phantom II Wild Weasel!

That's a nice A-6!

Very nice build. I may now just have to break out the Flight of the Intruder movie again :)
Beautiful! Gotta love the big fat nose on the Intruder.

Like the look.
Which version of the A-6 are you trying to build?
Decals, Impact, Afteburner and Superscale all have interesting sheets for the Intruder.
Thanks for the comments felluhs. Ryan I did see some decals but they were not the ones I was interested in. They were for an all gray jet or TRAM jet. I like the Intruder in the old white/gull gray scheme. Superscale did have some decals for an older color jet but it had the TRAM ball and I did not want that. I wanted to do an Eldorado Canyon jet but they were all gray.
ps. Ryan I made the changes on the M1A1 you suggested. Came ot looking real nice. Thanks

Bill,
I look forward to seeing both.
As for the A-6, the big ass intake on the top in front of the tail is TRAM feature. It was added to cool TRAM avionics.

Whats odd is I have seen some jets without the TRAM with the scoop. I think the TRAM ball could be placed on and taken off but some ground crew said it was a pain in the a@* to put on and take off. Maybe they would take off the TRAM ball and just leave the scoop on. The kit also comes with two instrument panels. One for the TRAM and one without. Who knows. I am by no means a A-6 expert but is was a fun kit. This was a rare build for me in that I purchased it at Hobby Lobby with a 40% discount coupon and began building the next day!
Too clean for a carrier plane, must be fresh from the paint barn!! Just bustin on ya. Looks really good!

Excellent, Bill! That old Monogram Intruder is such a cool kit, and you did it justice.
Cheers,
