Part 2 of my Hangar18 trip... Bryan is restoring a model that a pilot built of his plane, which he was later killed in a training crash. His daughter has been the keeper of the kit over the years and over time has lost a few pieces and fallen into neglect.
What Bryan is looking for per his email:
The parts I am in desperate search of are F9F-6 or F9F-8 Cougar horizontal stabilizers. I could also use the complete gear set for it. Unfortunately after closer inspection, you were right. This is either an odd scale or a box scale kit and not truly 1/48. My guess is that it is roughly 1/56, so matching this up may be nearly impossible.
Everything looks great on the IPMS website. The listing is accurate. Thanks for the exposure!

Jon,that kit would be the old Revell kit,the scale is box scale or 1/50th something.You might find one for cheaps on egay.
