Title: Does anyone know how to get replacement parts for Trumpeter kits?
Post by: ryanort on Tue 06/09/09 08:16 PM
I bought a Trumpeter F4F-3 (Late) Wildcat from Don Black's Brass Trains and More in New Bern and the kit is missing the engine cowling.  I'd hate to have to ship it back for a refund.

Anyone know how to request one from Trumpeter?

Much appreciated,
Ryan

Write to the importer, Stevens International, and request a replacement part.  Modelers report hit or miss with this method, but it is the right way to go about it.  The URL of Stevens is:

Not sure, if Steven's Int. fails to come through, does DMolds (the old CE update cowls) make an updated Cowl for the F4F in 1/32??  I know they make 1/48 cowls for the F6F.

Just thinkin out loud...

Roger that.  I contacted Stevens International and they replied within hours that they would send the part. Pretty darn responsive I'd say.

Speaking of which, the F4F-3 looks to be a nice kit.

Thanks,
