Title: Tamiya 1/35 B1 bis
Post by: mharviala on Sun 06/10/12 04:19 PM
So, I have all Significant Others out of the house this weekend (Wife in CO/kids w Ex/Dog in kennel) so I've had an amazingly productive weekend from a modeling perspective.  I've completed basic build on Tamiya 1/48 BF109 and hit it with primer.  It's just gray though, so no need to post photos yet.

I've also made some progress on my Tamiya B1, getting ready to paint the details (exhaust / tools / chain) and then apply decals.  After that, it's time to gloss coat and weather.

Yes, very nice indeed.  That is always a striking camouflage scheme.

Nice paint work. I like to see these tanks built up and placed in diorama settings. I had a chance to purchase one of these at Hobby Lobby last year and passed. Now I wish I had picked it up.

Thanks for the comments everyone.  The base coat is the yellowish color.  I then enlarged the instructions to 1/35, cut out paper masks, and then transferred it to silly putty rolled flat.  After that it was a matter of cutting out the silly putty mask, and slapping on the vehicle.  Spray brown, and repeat to spray the final color.  The black demarcation was done with a Scripto paint pen, and then touched up with a thin brush.

Thanks for the details. Not sure what scheme my may be in, maybe a Panzer Gray with the Free French. Look forward to seeing this one in person.
