									<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Just learned today that my wifes fathers double cousin, Paul Russell Danford, flew as a gunner on a A-20, 9th AF, during world war 2.  Possibly 410th BG  I an trying to dig up more information.  He is now 102.  Will at a minimum throw togehter a A-20 for him.  Would any of you happen to have one that is done?  And one that you are not that attahced to?</p>

I bought a Tamiya 1/350 scale Fletcher destroyer, which seemed like a small and good beginner kit. I also got photo etched parts for it (Eduards) since i figured it would be a good way to pratice working with PE.</p>

I am therefore building two P-51Ds in parallel &#8211; in in 1/48th scale and one in a matching (to the B-24) 1/72 scale. Both will have 15th AF markings based in Italy.  Both are Tamiya kits.  These are old molds (1995 i think) but the fit is a relief compared to the Airfix B-24 (new mold&hellip;</p>

<p>I just started to build a B-24. My wife’s uncle was a pilot flying B-24s out of Italy. Eventually I would love to build his actually plane but I don’t have much information to go on &#8211; so for now I’ll stick to just a similar B-24 from the 15th Air Force that was based in Italy. </p>
