M114 HMMWV Conversion

This is my Tamiya humvee that I’m converting to an uparmored M1114. I bought the kit at minicon and it came with a bunch of resin additions however most would not quite be right. This is now a mix of those parts, some bits from cults3d I’ve adapted or plain redid. Others I drew up and then printed

Had a new book arrive from CAVU on the Harrier. Great detail shots of the AV-8B and TAV-8B. I highly recommend this book if you want to detail your Harrier, your a Harrier or a Marine aviation fan. Had it cross country in less than a week.

Using stencils for painting national insignas for the first time. Did not work out so well. One side is particular bad (which i knew as i couldnt get the mask to lay flat). The others i got white edges. Should have reversed and painted blue first, then white. Know for next tine.

Any ideas on how most easily fix the white edges?

Just learned today that my wifes fathers double cousin, Paul Russell Danford, flew as a gunner on a A-20, 9th AF, during world war 2. Possibly 410th BG I an trying to dig up more information. He is now 102. Will at a minimum throw togehter a A-20 for him. Would any of you happen to have one that is done? And one that you are not that attahced to?

So my B-24 build in progress needed some “little friends”. I am therefore building two P-51Ds in parallel – in in 1/48th scale and one in a matching (to the B-24) 1/72 scale. Airfix B-24H 1/72 scale

I just started to build a B-24. My wife’s uncle was a pilot flying B-24s out of Italy. Eventually I would love to build his actually plane but I don’t have much information to go on – so for now I’ll stick to just a similar B-24 from the 15th Air Force that was based in Italy.

May 2025 informal build night.

2 new folks showed up (William and Henric, I believe) plus Tony, Jeff, Paul, Dave, Scott and myself. Also looks like an old member has started a new modeling group/podcast in Durham.
