Here's what I've found about David Howe. You may have all of this already.

Assistant Squadron Operations and Gunnery Officer. B flight vice CO. Assigned P-51D 44-13884. 500 combat hours (2 tours) without an abort. Ex-RCAF pilot. Bell test pilot 1974.
