Good Day Folks
Hope all is well. Our good friends from IPMS Manila recently concluded the "Parent and Son Scale Model Building and Contest". This was held last October 19, 2013 at the Ateneo Grade School in Quezon City, Metro Manila. The Ateneo Grade School Hobbycraft Club and the Ateneo Junior High School Hobbycraft Club comprise of members from Grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 and from Grade 8 respectively. This wonderful event led the good friends and expert moderlers from our Manila chapter to mentor, guide and give these young children a helping hand to step into the joyful journey of scale modeling, but most importantly, an opportunity to develop themselves into the great people of tomorrow.
This initiative clearly sets this club ahead in the "Community Service" part of what we do and set the example for all IPMS chapters to move forward and do similar events, (if they aren't yet doing them), especially in this modern day and age where our younger generations are glued to the Internet and Social Media getting lost amidst the information superhighway, wasting their talents and the opportunities this hobby will bring to them. We need to foster this form of plastic art and teach the younger generation on how to glue plastic instead of they being glued to the wonderful and yet terrible electronic gadgets.
Please, help us spread the word. The links below will take you to their website where you can read the story and see pictures of this wonderful event, and important initiative.
