Looks good Bill. From a graphic arts standpoint, I love those old Aurora boxes. Classic.

What you're seeing is some 'heavy handed' pastel chalk.  The washes don't seem to work that well for me.  I really like pre-shading the best.

I plan to go back and try a couple different methods for cleaning it up.  This kit has been used as a learning tool for myself.

Looks nice Bill!  What kind of washes are you using?  I've gone through a couple, and still haven't found a really user friendly one.

What started as a target of (learning) opportunity has come to the end.

Lessons learned:
1) I can do free hand SEA camo with an airbrush.
2) Washes don't always do what you expect them to.
3) A lighter hand using pastel chalk is better than a heavy hand.
4) Tanyia Semi-Gloss clear from a rattle-can doesNOT substitute for GLOSS clear (or Future) when you need to apply decals.

All good stuff.  I had fun with this very old kit, and really, that's what it's all about.
