Great Wall Hobby kit in 1/48. Very nice with a little photo etch.

RLM 66. What kit is it David?

Shane

That depends on what your are modeling and what year of the war your are depicting.  Germans started off using RLM02 (grey) and then switched the cockpit color to RLM66 (Grey Black) with the release of new orders in Nov 41.  The actual date it changed on the production line changed with each manufacturer and type of aircraft.  While the cockpit color changed, RLM02 continued to be used for non-cockpit crew areas, wheel wells and wheel struts etc.  Later in the war, to speed production, the wheel wells of fighters were often painted the bottom color of the aircraft, but you really need references (pictures) on this. Fuel lines, electrical wiring were all color coded if you need to pick out the details.  There are many articles on the internet you can surf to fill in the details.

Got a really nice kit for Christmas. But it has no paint guide. What is the best interior paint for WWII German aircraft?
