Can do Ron. I'll dispatch a check when I do the club banking today.

I agree nice job on the contest flyer. Matt lets go ahead and sponsor them for a category and a major award. Hopefully they get enough funding to have their contest. We all know how fine the line is for a "go - no go" decision.

Attached is the flyer for the IPMS Arm/Air contest scheduled for October 17, 2015 in Salisbury. Given how close Salisbury is, I think this would be a good opportunity for a signficant showing of support from Eagle Squadron.

Here's a message from Sam Morgan:

I'm preaching to the choir, here, I know. However, as most of you already know, preparing for any kind of IPMS-sponsored contest/convention takes a lot of planning, time and effort. I have done my best to try to get the word out to as many potential participants, vendors and sponsors in this area of the East Coast in the hope of generating as much interest in our upcoming event as possible. I have also put listings on Web sites, and an ad in "The Journal".

As I type this, we are still very short of vendors and sponsors for our awards. I am making one final plea to all of you for help. If you (or anyone in your chapter) knows of anyone who would like to participate as a vendor, please have them get in contact with me immediately!

If you or your chapter would like to sponsor a trophy package, it's imperative that you please let me know by August 1st! That is our cutoff date. We have to give our trophy shop enough time to produce all the engraved plates and trophies we have designed in order to really make our awards truly special. The cost is $25 per category, which includes a first-and second-place award. If you would like to sponsor one of our ten major awards, the cost is $40. Please make your check payable to IPMS Arm/Air and send it to me (to arrive BEFORE August 1st) along with your choice of category. Please send several alternate selections as well as several categories and major awards have already been taken.

Please remind everyone that not only will this be a contest, it will also be a scale model expo. We know that there are many scale modelers "out there" who are turned off by competition. We don't want these modelers to feel excluded so we are asking you to get the word to anyone who may just want to come, participate and display their models instead of entering the contest. They can pay a flat fee of $10 and display as many models as they like. I have attached our convention brochure again for reference. In addition, members of the Carolina Garrison (501st Legion) will be in attendance to really add a true taste of science fiction to our event. We have added an airbrush competition as well. The winner will walk away with a brand new Paasche Talon airbrush.

Please forward this to the other members of your various chapters and to anyone else whom you think might wish to attend, including the various independent car clubs in our respective regions. You're all invited to come share in the fun and remember some of the good times we shared over the years with some of the wonderful people (like Dave Lockhart and Don Harris) now long gone, who once graced us with their skill, their abilities, their friendship, and their humor -- who made us all better scale modelers. All of us here hope to see all of you that day. Call or e-mail me if you have any questions or need more info. Until then, flog that plastic; make some dust.

May the force be with you!
