12 micro strips later....  :o

Not great but I think passable once hidden under paint.

Next problem....tire treads....not great but it will do for this beater. Now only three more to go. One a night, otherwise it will be hulk smash!

Also dechromed parts in a bath of simple green. Next is to paint them with that new Vallejo metal colors, thinking dull aluminum.

I am sure I will do something with the bed. It's the perfect venue for making things messy, just havn't seen the right look that has grabbed my attention. Both 1/25 and 1/32 have the seam between the wheel wells. Seems most 1:1 restored vehicles have that panel removed.

I painted the mess out of the vehicle and did a bunch of weathering. It is painted flat blue, with a green hood and white vinyl top. This thing keeps getting uglier.  :D

Pics tonight.

Are you going to add the weathering to the bed of the Ranchero? I don't think the kit had the seam in the bed? If it was there I sanded it out.

Hard to see in the photos but one thing I did find, there is a seam across the bed and that it is suppose to be there.

Its a large access panel in the floor of the bed that accesses the top of the shock absorbers.

Looks good Ryan! Any plans to to "rough up" the inside?
RonV

Thanks Ron. Not really. I saw a technique for torn seats but I am not sure it will work at this scale. Heck, even what I did might not work at this scale. Oh well, trying to have some fun. The dash and bench will be painted Nato black instead of flat black. I will try some different oil paint process for both the interior and exterior next.

Just cause, experimenting with body damage.

What is the dent in the right door for?

Pro tip: don't use Vallejo for hairspray method or at least give it a long time to dry. Ouch! Clean up it easy, just run under warm/hot water and it will pull off. Kinda cool to watch and it had a mostly good impact on the other two colors.

Ugly little thing. Saw someone's build and it started to grow on my. Raleigh Hobby Lobby had it for under $16 and was sold on the idea. This one is going to be old and used. I think I cleaned up most of my seams, white plastic is horrible. Thinned out some fender areas for rust and large dent in the left door (got too carried away with the flame).

First 'rust' color, going to hairspray when dry add another 'rust' color and use water and toothbrush to weather then same process with the body color hopefully this will give a multi level color variation before additional weathering is done. I had tried the same process on the bunker turret I did away back and kinda liked it.

The bottom and interior. Looking into ways to do used old black leather bench seats.
