Found this clip (no sound) of Bob with the OV-10.  If you look closely at the open of the clip, you can see a true Bob Hoover maneuver.  He is not having problems stopping the A/C in front of the crowd - he is making the A/C "bow" in preparation for his show.

Bob Hoover was one of the primer US test pilots and consummate aerobatic flier & gentleman.  The flying world is poorer with his passing.

In case some of you haven't heard the great Bob Hoover- test pilot, unlimited racer, airshow pilot, WWII AAC veteran, passed away last Wednesday (10/26). He was 94. I was lucky enough to see his deadstick aerobatic routine in a Rockwell Aero Commander in 1994 at the Reno Nats- most impressive thing I've ever seen at an airshow. Inarguably, one of the best pilots ever born. Interesting to note the slew of corrections from an earlier article in the NYT. This is par for the course with modern "journalism."
