Ok.
I'm about to cry.

3 months of work...Just about ready to decal, probably would have done it tonight.

Dropped on the hardwood floor.
Prop broken.
Landing gear broken.
Port nav light has vanished.
Windscreen came off.

Dammit.

With field modifications very common, I would doubt there is any true single version of any fighter in action. The Navy was just as prone to field changes as the Army. And as you noticed photo misidentifications are WAY to common.

I need help from a naval aviation guru...

I'm looking for good reference pics of F6F-3N, but I'm finding what appears to be a lot of misidentified F6F-5N pics and vice versa...

Is it 100% true that ALL F6F-5N have lost the rear window and have 2x 20mm cannons along with 4x 50cal, or are there a mix of F6F-5N with the rear window, without the 20mm cannons?

Slightly confused...
