In order to meet the Club's needs for an appropriate sized meeting space, an alternative option has emerged.  The American Legion in Fuqay Varina has offered us space in their banquet hall.   This would be open to us on the third Sunday of each month between 1pm and 3pm.  There is normally  a cost associated with the venue, but Stephen Payne negotiated a waiver.  The first meeting, if the membership is interested,  would be  August 19.  This new location would  have ample seating and display space for Show & Tell.  There are two points that need to be emphasized .  First, the Legion is very interested in supporting Models for Troops.  Second, they want us to partner with them on their public service activities such as trash pickup and monthly  fish fry.

This is not a decision that I feel I can make  without your consent.  So I am starting a new topic in the Forum for you to vote.  Simply go to the Club web site -  general discussion -  open "NEW LOCATION VOTE".  Vote by replying with you first name and the word  HANGAR or LEGION.  Votes will be counted on Sunday, July 29.  The results will be posted on the evening of Monday, July 30.  The next club meeting at Hangar 18 is scheduled for Wednesday, August 1.

Hanger 18
    Closer to center of membership
Shows support for a local merchant
Small area for meeting especially Show & Tell
No space for expansion of membership attendance
Possible interference with Hanger 18 merchant Activity
Reduction in ability to hold open forum discussion

American Legion
     Larger meeting space
     Room for expansion of membership
     Possible source of new membership
No interference with merchant activity during meeting
Better ability to hold open forum discussion
Need to support AL activities - monthly fish fry, road     trash pick-up, etc beyond regular club meetings
Potential additional support (Sponsorship) for Models for Troops
Need to have minimum one club member as a member of AL

Thank you,
