The South Carolina Scale Model Mega Show is a joint project of the IPMS/Mid-Carolina Swamp Fox Modelers and the AMPS Central South Carolina Wildcats.  We host two independent contests on the day of the show--the IPMS contest is run using IPMS/USA guidelines, while the AMPS show is run according to AMPS rules.

The show will once again be held on Saturday, 22 June 2019 at the SC National Guard Armory, 1225 Bluff Road, Columbia, SC from 9AM until approximately 6PM.

Last year, the IPMS contest had 63 modelers who entered 307 models in the contest.  AMPS saw 42 modelers enter 96 models for judging.  Accounting for people who entered both contests, we had a total of around 100 modelers enter 403 models.

We had 50 vendor tables available, and sold out of tables early.  On the day of the show, we filled 47 tables with three no-shows. 

Vendor tables are still available for $30 each, see the 'Our Vendors' tab for info.  This year, we've increased the number to 60 vendor tables available.  We sold last year out well in advance of the show, so if you want a table, reserve it now!

For all our AMPS South Region friends, we'd like to invite you to our next show hosted in conjunction with the IPMS/Mid-Carolina chapter.

We'll be back in the same venue for the third year in a row.  This year we'll have a few more vendor tables available (we sold out a couple months before the show last year), food trucks and, as in the past, free access to the SC National Guard Museum right next door.

General admission is still free, and entrants only pay a single registration fee to enter models into both sides of the show (AMPS and IPMS).  AMPS and IPMS national members should bring proof of membership and ask for the national member discount.

Although the basic and additional registration fees only allow a set number of entries for the judged portion of the contest(s), this year we're allowing unlimited (based on space available) entries into the "display only" categories with the basic paid registration.  Please see the website for more details on the contest registration fees.

Hope to see you and your chapter members there!  Do please ask your members who are planning to attend to step up and help us with judging.  This year we're giving our judges free raffle tickets for each hour that the judge.

If you have any members who would like to attend the AMPS Field Judges, Table Captains, or ACJ training, let me know ASAP so that we can arrange for those training sessions.
